It’s hard to be the cool kid in town, but if you are Liv Tyler, it’s just plain easy. Yes you may be the daughter of Steven Tyler and can literally quote Aerosmith songs in your sleep, but also, you are a style icon.
As we look back on Liv in the 90’s, she's a style icon we loved, fawned over and had a major girl crush on. We think it’s time to take a style tip from Liv to carry us with a new look into the New Year.
Who’s with us?
Combat boots, crop tops, little black dresses, short skirts, and school girl style perfection, looking like Liv could be simpler than we think.
Let’s start with the essentials.
Our wardrobe needs a fair amount of black in it. Building a look with a solid foundation piece (no, not Spanx) is a must-do in life. Whether you are a 90’s girl living in an 80’s world, or vice versa, your foundation garments are necessary. The Jewel Toned Major Mini and Rockin’ Bodysuit both have the ability to be the perfect starting garment to an outfit, sans bra (since it’s built in), with shapewear included. The Lace Bralette gives just the right amount of hold (without the painful underwire), is comfortable and allows you to show your skin with a feminine finish.
As we look back to Liv’s style, we seem to think that she influenced the Jewel Toned product line. What do you think? (wink, wink!)
Look #1: Channel your inner Empire Records Liv Tyler by layering over your Rockin’ Bodysuit a pleated skirt or a crop top. To be worn only on Rex Manning Day, obvs.
Look #2: Simple is stunning. Liv is a natural beauty, so why shouldn’t we celebrate our beauty like she does? With the classic neckline of the Major Mini, you can show off you décolletage in a carefree, and cool way.
Look #3: Combat boots, a little lurex with your short shorts, and a purple silk shirt never looked so sassy. As Liv’s lace bra peeks out from under her shirt, she creates just the right under layer to turn heads and keep her sexiness a secret.
Damn the man. Save the Empire, Dress like Liv.
