Do you know how to contour? We're not talking about makeup, we're talking about the Contour Hourglass Dress. Everyone knows and loves our Major Mini Dress, but the Contour Hourglass Dress is our sleeper hit. Black and blue with a racerback, it's still a cute, comfy, smoothing minidress. And yes, you can still wear it and say #lookmanobra!
So maybe because it's got a little more detail with two colors, or maybe because of the racerback, it might seem a little more complicated to style. But we promise you, it's only as difficult as you make it! We asked Sydney makeup artist Natalie Wright
to show us how she wears her Contour Hourglass Dress and (lucky us!) she agreed.
First up, in the picture above, Nat pairs the dress with the classic standby of the Entire Jewel Toned team (except for Levani, who doesn't wear our dresses, I don't think...) – the denim jacket! Throw it on and go. You can dress it up or down with accessories but we love this look for summer with a pair of black Jeffrey Campbell slides.
For a different, but still casual take, try a black crop top. Whether it's fitted or not, it'll change the look of the Contour Hourglass Dress entirely. Here on Nat it looks like a super cute, high-waisted two-toned skirt. This screams for a pair of platforms and a mini crossbody bag. Great for meeting the girls for drinks or running around town buying All The Things you need.
And for going out? Play around with vests! This loose, drape-y DKNY zippered vest on top of the Contour Hourglass Dress is perfect for a night out. Add some statement jewelry (big hoop earrings will never go out of style) and a pair of little black booties and you're all set to shake what your mama gave ya. Sweet Nat is a total bombshell in this number.
And for more styling ideas? Play around with a Moto jacket or sheer fabrics... even loose knits. The styling possibilities are seriously endless. But whatever you do in your Jewel Toned, make sure you fill your phone up with #sugarfreeselfie after #sugarfreeselfie!
